Specialist 3D Printing

Classic Cars & Engineering Applications

We provide professional 3D printing services with a focus on classic car restoration and replacement parts.

Using industrial-grade printers and high-performance materials, we produce strong, precise components often no longer available through traditional suppliers.

6dm Ltd are experienced engineers and classic car enthusiasts, combining practical restoration knowledge with advanced additive manufacturing.

Classic Car Parts

We manufacture high-quality 3D printed parts for classic vehicles using a Markforged Onyx Pro system, capable of producing fine-detail components with excellent surface finish.

Our carbon fibre-filled nylon parts are:

  • Stronger and lighter than equivalent aluminium
  • Oil and UV-resistant
  • Suitable for under-bonnet temperatures up to 145°C
  • Ideal for restoration, preservation, and competition vehicles.

Shop our parts for Range Rover, Triumph, Scimitar, MG, and Mazda models.

If the part you need isn’t available, we can also design and manufacture bespoke components to your specifications.

Materials & Capabilities

We offer professional 3D printing in a range of materials to suit functional, cosmetic, and flexible applications.

Onyx (Carbon Fibre-Filled Nylon)

High-performance nylon reinforced with micro carbon fibres, producing strong, stiff, and chemically resistant parts. Can be further reinforced with continuous fibres for aluminium-strength components. Ideal for replacement parts, housings, mounts, and functional or cosmetic prototypes.

PLA

A precision thermoplastic that is easy to print and ideal for concept models, prototypes, and display parts. When printed on professional systems, PLA delivers excellent surface finish, dimensional accuracy, and detail for early-stage validation or visual presentations.

Smooth TPU (95A)

A flexible, rubber-like material that combines impact absorption, elasticity, and durability. Perfect for seals, gaskets, buffers, protective covers, drive belts, non-marking jigs, wheels, and treads in both prototyping and functional applications.

Fibreglass Reinforced Composites

Fibreglass reinforcement creates strong, stiff components suitable for tooling, workshop use, and load-bearing parts. Often combined with Onyx or other base materials to produce soft jaws, hand tools, medium-strength tooling, and components requiring high durability and dimensional stability.

Industries Served

While classic cars parts are our speciality, our 3D printing services can also used across a range of industries, including:

  • Automotive
  • Aerospace
  • R&D
  • Education
  • Medical
  • Industrial Equipment
  • Electronics

Design, Prototyping & Bespoke Products

We offer bespoke 3D design and manufacturing, producing one-off components, replacement parts, and prototypes to your exact requirements.

This service is ideal where a part is:

  • No longer available
  • Being improved or modified
  • Required as a prototype or small batch

See examples of previous projects on our Bespoke Products page.
